Happy New Year
Well at last xmas is over and a new year begins, with new years resolutions! The first, to make sure I keep blogging! To set up my website and do more craft events and approach more galleries etc to sell my work. So all ideas and contacts would be greatly welcomed.
The christmas period was a really busy time for making and selling, with an event almost every weekend. The craft mafia xmas fair was a success again at the Whitworth Art Gallery despite the weather, dedicated shoppers trudged through the snow to reach us.
Towards the end of last year it was also a busy time for workshops. I worked with a lovely group of people in Knowsley for five weeks creating a banner based on their city of Liverpool. When it is up on the wall, I will post a photo. I also did a great workshop for the Whitworth as part of the craft mafia 'takeover', we made lovely bow brooches with Harris Tweed and silk. So far this year I have done one workshop in Gorton in a great community centre, where we made fashion accessories from felt and tweed. More workshops are planned over the next few months, in schools, in galleries and with community groups, which will be great. So the next few weeks I will be designing my new collection for Spring/Summer, oh yes it will be soon upon us. I may have a go at making some dickie bows for men!!
The recent images are some of the bags etc that I made for the xmas markets.

Getting ready for Christmas
Yes, its that time of year again when I spend most of my days off, sat at a sewing machine !! Not that thats a bad thing though. Ive got lots of markets and fairs planned for October, November and December so its a busy time. Following that amazing trip to Harris and Lewis earlier on in the year, where I bought lots of beautiful Harris Tweed, I have been putting it to good use. Mixing it with both silk, vintage silk and felt, I have created a collection of bags and cushions.
It also been a busy time planning and organising the Manchester Craft Mafia annual Christmas market at the Whitworth Art Gallery. This year it will be held on saturday 18th December 10am till 4pm. Weve had lots of interest from many crafts people wanting to participate, so it should be a great event.

The latest news!!
Well I am terrible, can't believe that it has been so long since I have actually added to this blog. So it look like I am again new to blogging but will try and keep it up this time !!
Alot has happened in the last 18 or so months. I have been doing lots of making and selling and will attempt to put some of my latest work on here. I have also been busy doing lots of workshops for both adults and children. I have been working in primary and secondary schools, with various year groups making loads of fantastic things. I am also working with adults with mental health issues, which is combining my love of textiles with my skills in mental health.
